Civil Litigation

Personal Injury Representation in California

When someone else’s carelessness injures you, the costs do not wait. Medical bills arrive, wages stop, and an insurance adjuster calls early — often before you know how badly you are hurt — with an offer designed to close the file cheaply.

We represent injured people, and the families of people who were killed, in superior courts throughout California.

Cases we handle

  • Automobile, motorcycle, and commercial trucking collisions
  • Multi-vehicle collisions and disputed-liability cases, including cross-complaints
  • Pedestrian and bicycle collisions
  • Premises liability — dangerous conditions on private and public property
  • Dog bites and animal attacks
  • Serious and catastrophic injury
  • Wrongful death

What we actually do on your case

We investigate while the evidence still exists — scene photographs, vehicle data, surveillance video before it is overwritten, and witnesses before they move. We document the full extent of the injury, including the wage loss and the future care that early offers routinely leave out. We prepare a statement of damages and a complaint, and we litigate.

Cases settle on the strength of the file behind them. A file that was built to be tried settles better than one that was built to be settled.

Deadlines you should know about

  • Most California personal injury claims must be filed within two years of the injury (Code of Civil Procedure section 335.1)
  • If a city, county, or state agency is involved, a written claim generally must be presented to that entity within six months (Government Code section 911.2)
  • Some claims carry shorter deadlines still, and a missed deadline usually ends the case regardless of its merit

If you are not a U.S. citizen

Immigration status is not a bar to recovering for an injury in California, and in most cases it is not admissible to reduce what you are owed. Because we practice immigration law in the same office, we can answer those questions directly rather than sending you elsewhere, and we can make sure a civil case does not create an immigration problem.

No fee unless we recover

Personal injury matters are handled on a contingency fee. There is no cost to you unless we obtain a recovery. Consultations are free.
